Professional Training with Positive Reinforcement
Build a solid foundation for continued growth and success by enrolling your puppy or dog in our Board & Train Programs. Learning basic verbal cues and being rewarded for good manners will help shape your dog into a happy, well-behaved companion and family pet. Our programs are an immersive experience where your dog receives training, play sessions, and socialization during the day coupled with luxury boarding at night.
Getting Started:
Prior to booking, you’ll have an opportunity to speak with a trainer so we can explore whether our program is a good fit for your family and your dog. For sensitive or anxious dogs, we recommend first completing a Lodging stay or coming for Adventure Day Camp to help them habituate to the environment before beginning training. Our ability to train your dog is entirely dependent on the amount of focus your dog can bring to the training sessions. For training to succeed, it’s important for your dog to have the opportunity to acclimate ahead of time, so that when they return for training, they’re more at ease and can focus on learning. If your dog already knows any of the cues or behaviors we teach, we will continue to reinforce while moving forward at their pace.
Program Details:
Introduction to Basic Manners – 5 days (4 nights) – $1,750
During Introduction to Basic Manners we will focus on teaching your dog basic verbal cues and expected behaviors to set them up for a lifetime of success! They will learn verbal cues including: “sit,” “down,” “come,” “this way,” and “let’s walk”, as well as behaviors including: implied stays, polite greetings, door manners, and leash manners. They will also learn a reward marker cue (“good!”), no reward marker cue (“oops”), and a release cue (“OK”). Our Introduction course will get you and your dog off to a great start and point you in the right direction for continued training!
Basic Manners Plus – 11 days (10 nights) – $3,500
Basic Manners Plus includes all of the verbal cues and behaviors learned in the Introduction program with two additional cues, “leave it,” and “touch.” We will spend the first week learning the Introduction cues and behaviors. The second week will be spent learning “leave it” and “touch,” while adding distractions, duration, and distance to the first week cues to build reliability and confidence in various situations and
environments.
VIP Expert – 21 days (20 nights) – $6,650
The VIP Expert is our most comprehensive option and covers the behaviors in our Basic Manners Programs, adding “place” and “settle” cues. We focus on confidence building, reliability with distractions, increasing distance and duration in sit/down stays, as well as socialization skills during this 21 day training program.
Maintaining Training:
We include a Handover Meeting upon the completion of each Board and Train Program. This meeting occurs on the 5th, 11th or 21st day of training at 4pm. A trainer will meet with you and your dog to walk you through the methods used during training to achieve the wanted behaviors. Training should be continuous. Only with consistent practice and maintenance in everyday life can these behaviors be maintained. We recommend that if you are not able to regularly practice these skills, that you consider booking recurring Adventure Training Camps. Our trainers are also happy to chat or email with you to provide basic training support and help you keep on track for the lifetime of your dog.
