Vets in our area are responding to concerns triggered by media attention to this virus which is highly contagious in dogs. We understand that most dogs who contract the illness recover with proper care. There is also a vaccine available. We recommend our clients with young, healthy dogs to get the vaccine and those of you with older dogs to discuss the pros and cons with your vet to make an informed decision.
The Farm maintains very strict hygiene protocols and procedures and is vigilant in assessing any respiratory symptoms in our guests. However it is not possible to guard 100% against a highly contagious infection in any environment shared by more than one dog.
